Meet The Wine Maker - Fine Wines of Rioja
Probably the most well-known wine region in Spain. It is Spain's fine wine capital, a region characterised by rich tradition and vibrant innovation.
The geography of the area is also a contributing factor, spanning a terrain that stretches 75 miles from north-west to south-east resulting in diverse climates, topography and soil types – all of which further influence quality and wine style.
As a result, Rioja has a wonderful variety of styles, which we will obviously need to taste.
On this tasting we will be joined by the wine maker and tasting the wines from Sierra Cantabria.
A bit about this producer:
Nestled between the foot of the Sierra that gives the winery its name “Sierra Cantabria” at 1200m, and the Ebro River at 350m, sits the town San Vicente de la Sonsierra, a town of great winemaking tradition. Sierra Cantabria is a much-lauded family-owned producer who crafts wines of freshness, elegance and poise. Six generations of obsessive attention to detail and deep respect for the land has earned them a loyal following.
