Red Wines of Chile, Argentina, California, Canada
We're tasting red wine this evening and only red wine!
Here we’ll explore the huge variety of red wine styles from North and South America. We'll be heading to California, Canada (oh yeah, some great wine from this region), Chile, Argentina and if we can Mexico and Brazil. So many great wines to taste from this area and so little time on one evening. As well as trying 6 fantastic wines, we’ll also talk about tannin and why some wines get better with age, as well as some other useful tips like why/when you should decant wine and what temperature to serve it at.
Some of the wines we might taste
Malbec from Argentina, originally this grape was from France but the Argentinians have made it their own!
Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot from Chile, these grapes are home on Bordeaux but the wines from Chile are delicious, great value and made with passion.
Canada, who knew the wines from this region often win the most votes in our tastings, maybe a Pinot Noir from Niagara
California, seen the film Bottle Shock? A love story of Pinot Noir and Merlot......which is your favourite?
We'll be tasting 6 different wines this evening.
