Discover Wines from The Americas
1st stop is California. We'll explore the wine regions and the wines styles that have made California famous and explain why the famous San Francisco Bay morning Fog is so important to many Californian winemakers. You will then taste a deliciously fruity Chardonnay and a ripe, fruit forward red Zinfandel.
Then we head to Chile, blessed with a climate that is just perfect for grape growing, we will reveal the major influences on wine styles and explore exciting up and coming wine regions such as the cool Limari or Casablanca Valleys as well as the powerhouse region of Chilean wine, the Central Valley, that produces some of the most consistent and best value for money wines in the world. Carmenere is one of our favourite graoes from this region.
Finally we hop over the Andes into Argentina which has an entirely different climate, much hotter and arid. The Argentinians have perfected the art of making a delicously aromatic white wine from a local grape variety called Torrontes. Of course, Argentina's most famous grape is Malbec.
