Different European Holiday Destinations Wines!
Today we tour some amazing unusual wine countries which you may be surprised to find produce some great wines.
Portugal has been undergoing something of a quiet revolution over recent years. A reluctance to follow trends and plant international grape varieties is now paying dividends and the new breed of full-bodied, fruit-filled wines are more than able to compete on the world stage. The unique flavours that are the hallmark of Portugal's indigenous grape varieties have become its trump card!
Nobody can doubt that Eastern Europe and beyond, once a cradle of wine production, has huge potential. That potential is being realised best by small’ish individual estates which are the dynamic drivers of quality. Though subject to a continental climate of hot summers, Greece, Hungary and Slovenia produce remarkable individual white wines with lovely fruit acidity, balance and individuality to rival more famous names from Western Europe.
This is part of the 4 week course covering, other destinations should you wish to look at a more comprehensive wine tasting tour.
