Grand Tour of France - Wines from European Holiday Destinations!
France is all about appellations and ‘Terroir’, but don’t let that put you off, because, as well as being the home of Bordeaux, Burgundy and Chablis, it is arguably the world's most important wine-producing country in the world – but you decide!.
For centuries, it has produced wine in greater quantity – and perhaps quality – than any other nation and has the richest heritage to match.
No other place comes close to matching France for sheer number of bench-mark wines. Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Grenache, Syrah, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc still achieve their finest expressions on French soil.
As we wander through some of the most famous wine producing areas of the world, from the prestigious and famous Bordeaux region to the regal wines of Burgundy and the diversity of the Rhone, we will sample some of their delights as we come to grips with the different styles, regions and the labelling system.
This is part of the 4 week course covering, other destinations should you wish to look at a more comprehensive wine tasting tour.
