Join us for a gin tasting experience and find out why "Londoners are drinking gin like it's going out of fashion!"
While Gin is often seen as England's traditional spirit, its origins are very much from over the sea. A Dutch physican is generally credited with first infusing juniper berries into a spirit base, thereby giving Gin its first name as Genever, gradually shortened by the English to "Gin".
During our evening, we will be guided through the fascinating, sometimes disreputable history of Gin, the various ingredients to create the base spirit and the botanicals (flavours) used to create the finsihed product. We will learn what defines the "London" in London Dry Gin, and compare it to other styles during the tasting.
We'll taste 6 different Gins, with a slice of something to complement the Botanicals.
Here are some examples:-
- London Dry Gin
- Traditional Gins
- International Gins
- Infused/Flavoured Gins.
Come along and learn more about this great spirit with a long history!
